Round 152 mm HE with reduced charge is intended to be fired from 152 mm howitzers for destroying enemy manpower in the open or in the field-type shelters, fighting artillery and destroying light armoured vehicles and equipment, also intended for making passages in mine fields and defence wirings.

Round 152 mm HE with reduced charge consists of projectile and propelling charge Ž-546U. The projectile is filled with TNT explosive and fitted with a V-429 fuze, alternatively with RGM-2 or RGM-6. The round is produced according to the technical specifications No. TP-O-245 and meets the design documentation 152HE-25-0597.
