The Chief of the General Staff of the Czech Armed Forces visited the STV GROUP manufacturing plant in Polička.
September 23, 2026 - Lieutenant General Miroslav Hlaváč toured the facility to learn about STV GROUP's production capabilities and the projects it is currently working on.
STV GROUP had the opportunity to welcome Lieutenant General Miroslav Hlaváč, Chief of the General Staff of the Czech Armed Forces, to its manufacturing plant in Polička. He came to personally familiarise himself with the company's production capabilities, as a leading Czech supplier of military equipment and the only domestic manufacturer of large-calibre ammunition. According to the general, the main purpose of the visit was to assess the capabilities of key Czech companies, which is important for further developing the army’s capabilities. During the discussion, he also noted that the industry, in turn, must respond to the trends and requirements of the armed forces through its own development and investments.
Company management presented the general with a broad portfolio of STV GROUP’s products and capabilities. This includes not only ammunition production, from small-calibre to artillery rounds, but also other strategic programs, such as life-cycle services for heavy military equipment, tactical gear production, and mechanical engineering.
“General Hlaváč’s visit is a great honour for us. He was able to see firsthand our company’s readiness—as a long-standing representative of the domestic defense industry—to fulfill the army’s tasks and needs. We reviewed our entire product range and discussed in detail the projects we are currently actively working on for the Army. We had an open discussion about both the projects that are proceeding smoothly and those that are more complicated. In this context, the general urged timely, successful completion of these projects. He also mentioned his ambition to shorten the time required to implement new technologies, and emphasis was placed on innovation and thorough testing of both new and already deployed products,” said Tomáš Rubáček, Chairman of the Board of Directors of STV GROUP.
A significant part of the visit was also purely practical. Lieutenant General Hlaváč observed the technological processes for loading ammunition and producing small-calibre ammunition directly on the production floor.
