Flyer 72 HD
01/01/2026 – A ceremony to hand over the new Flyer 72 HD light tactical vehicles, which will bolster the 43rd Airborne Regiment in Chrudim.
The Flyer 72 HD vehicles represent a significant step in modernising the Czech Army’s capabilities. The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Czech Army, the US Embassy, led by the US Ambassador to the Czech Republic, Nicholas Merrick, Robert Rice, a representative of Flyer Defence, and representatives of STV GROUP, the Czech industrial partner for the entire project.
The Czech Republic received these vehicles as a donation from the United States in recognition of its support for Ukraine.
“For our company, the donation of 46 Flyer vehicles means, first and foremost, that we will be localising maintenance services in the Czech Republic, specifically in Polička, which is about an hour’s drive from the Airborne Regiment in Chrudim. We are striving to ensure that vehicle support is provided as close as possible to our partner, the Czech Armed Forces,” said Ivo Strejček, Director of Business Development at STV GROUP.
The aim is to ensure long-term support throughout the vehicles’ lifecycle whilst strengthening domestic industrial capacity's involvement in strategic defence projects.
The handover ceremony in Chrudim symbolically marked the start of a new phase of cooperation between the Czech Armed Forces, the United States of America and the Czech defence industry.
For STV GROUP, the project forms part of a long-term business strategy to develop modern defence technologies, provide cutting-edge solutions to the armed forces and build international partnerships.
We would like to thank everyone involved in this significant project. We believe that the partnership between the Czech defence industry, the Czech Armed Forces and our NATO allies provides a solid foundation for building modern defence capabilities and strengthening collective security.
MAKING A SAFER WORLD. TOGETHER!
